There are basically two methods to download YouTube videos on any device:
By using “pwn”
Follow these steps on how to download videos from YouTube.
- Go to youtube.com
- Click on the video you wish to download.
- Click on the address box and add “pwn” just before youtube.com on PC. On a mobile device, remove “m.” and add “pwn ” before “youtube.com”. For example, “https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=MnAqyaYiP8g”, remove m. and add pwn as this “https://pwnyoutube.com/watch?v=MnAqyaYiP8g”
- Click enter and you will be directed to a page where you can select any format you wish to save the YouTube video.
- Select the format and proceed to download.
The second method is by using en.savefromnet
This method is quite as easy as the above. Follow these steps on how to download video from YouTube:
- Go to your web address and enter en.savefromnet.com
- Open youtube.com in another tab.
- Click on the video you wish to download.
- Copy the URL of the video.
- Paste it in the box of en.savefromnet.com and click download.
- Then select the video format you wish to download. These are the video formats you can download: MP4 720 , MP4 720, MP4 360, WEBM 360, 3GP 240 and 3GP 144.
Note: This method can only be used to download YouTube videos in video format only.
Via the YouTube Downloader app/similar apps
- Download the app
- Open the app
- Use a search to find the video you want to download and tap on it
- Select the format you want – mp4 for a video or mp3 for an audio file
- Hit download and wait while the app works, which could take a few minutes
- Watch the video in the app or find it in the relevant folder in your phone iPhone users may find it less easy to secure a suitable app

1. Via Documents 6 from UK Apple Store
- Open the YouTube app, find the video you want to grab and copy the link to it via the share option
- Go to the Apple Store and search for ‘Documents 6’
- Install the app of that name
- Launch the app and hit the Safari icon that looks like a compass This launches a web browser. Type in ‘savefromnet’ and hit the search icon
- Click on the en.savefrom.net link in the search results
- Paste the YouTube video link into the white box on SaveFromNet
- Tap the green tick and select what size file you want, and what type of file – mp4 for a video or mp3 for an audio file
- Tap ‘Download’, then ‘Done’ and wait for your video to arrive
- View the video in the Downloads section of Document 6
- To transfer it to the Camera Roll folder in your phone, tap and hold the video icon and drag it up until the folders appear
- Drop it in Photos, then Camera roll. Done!

Alternatively, you can download a video from YouTube by using “Save from net” by placing “ss” before youtube.com in the URL of the video you want to download on your desktop. For mobile, remove “m.” and add ss before youtube.com and click enter.
